SUPPORT

FREQUENT QUESTIONS

Real talk about Palestinian identity, authentic support, and wearing your values.

Supporting Palestine

I'm not Palestinian. Is it weird for me to wear this?

Not at all - we need you. Palestinian solidarity from all backgrounds is essential to making meaningful change. We've shipped to teachers in Vermont, activists in Texas, and college students across the country.

When you wear Yuma, you're making Palestinian culture visible in spaces where it might never be seen otherwise. You're showing up for human rights. You're making a choice that matters.

Every purchase directly supports Palestinian communities through Heal Palestine while helping ensure Palestinian identity, heritage, and stories continue to be seen and heard.

How do I know my money is actually helping?

Fair question. Here's the breakdown: We donate 20% of our profits to Heal Palestine, an organization providing direct humanitarian aid to Palestinians. Plus, you're supporting a Palestinian-owned business, which means your money stays in Palestinian hands from start to finish.

You can learn more about Heal Palestine's impact at healpalestine.org.

What if someone asks me what my shirt means?

Perfect opportunity. Each design comes with a story you can share. The Arabic text, the symbols, the colors - they all mean something specific about Palestinian heritage.

You can direct them to our website or Instagram where we break down the meaning and history behind each design. Most people are genuinely curious, not confrontational. When you wear Yuma, you're opening doors for education and creating space for Palestinian stories to be heard.

Is the Arabic text accurate? How do I know it's not just Google Translate?

Every piece of Arabic on our clothing is written and verified by native Arabic speakers - usually by Marriam and members of our Palestinian community. We don't use Google Translate or random online generators.

The Arabic you see on our designs is the same Arabic spoken in Arab homes and carried through generations of our families. When you wear it, you're wearing language that means something real to real people.

We've had native speakers reach out to thank us for getting it right - because they're tired of seeing butchered Arabic on "solidarity" merchandise made by people who don't speak the language.

About Palestinian Ownership

Wait, are you actually Palestinian or just saying that?

Yes. Yusuf is Palestinian - his father, aunts, and uncles are all original refugees from Palestine. He didn't learn about Palestinian culture from books or the internet - he lived it. The stories of displacement, the meaning behind our symbols, the weight of carrying this identity - that's his entire life. He still has family in Palestine suffering and dying right now.

Marriam is Egyptian and has been advocating for Palestinian rights her whole life. Together, we combined Yusuf's design background with Marriam's marketing expertise to create something that honors Palestinian heritage.

Every design comes from lived experience, not research. This is who we are.

Do you work with Palestinians in Palestine or just diaspora?

Both. We collaborate with Palestinian artists and advocates wherever they are - whether that's in Palestine, Jordan, the US, or anywhere else Palestinians have built communities. Palestinian identity doesn't stop at borders, and neither does our network.

We're working toward more direct partnerships with artisans in Palestine as we grow. Right now we're focused on sustainable growth that actually serves Palestinian communities long-term.

Pricing & Payments

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express), as well as Apple Pay, Google Pay, and PayPal. We also offer Shop Pay installments if you want to split your purchase - supporting Palestinian causes shouldn't break your budget.

What makes your products worth the price?

We're not just another protest shirt shop. Every piece features original Palestinian designs created by Palestinians - designed with intention, cultural authenticity, and attention to quality.

We're building a curated Palestinian lifestyle brand:

  • Original artwork and designs by Palestinians, rooted in Palestinian heritage

  • Quality materials that last for years, not months

  • Made-to-order to eliminate waste

  • 20% of profits support Palestinian humanitarian aid through Heal Palestine

Join our email list to be the first to know about promotions.

Shipping & Orders

How long until I get my order?

Each piece takes 1-3 days to make, then 3-7 days to ship. Total timeline is roughly 1-2 weeks from order to your door.

We're not fast fashion, and that's intentional - every item is made when you order it, which means zero waste and a piece created specifically for you. We prioritize quality and sustainability over speed.

If you need something faster for an event or time-sensitive situation, email us at yuma@theyumaproject.com as soon as possible and we'll do our best to prioritize your order.

Do you ship outside the US?

Not regularly yet, but we're working on it. Palestine is a global issue, and we want to serve supporters everywhere. Right now, if you're international and really want something, email us - we might be able to work something out case-by-case.

Can I track my order?

Yes. You'll get a tracking number via email when your order ships. Click the link to follow your package's journey.

What if part of my order is missing?

Contact us immediately at yuma@theyumaproject.com with your order number and details about what's missing. We'll resolve it quickly - every customer matters to us.

Returns & Quality

What's your return policy?

We accept returns within 14 days of delivery for unworn, unwashed items in original condition. Here's how it works:

  • Email us at yuma@theyumaproject.com to start the return

  • You cover return shipping costs

  • Once we receive the item, we'll issue store credit within 3-5 business days

  • Store credit can be used on any future purchase

If something arrives damaged, misprinted, or incorrect: We'll replace it at no cost to you. Just send us photos within 7 days and we'll take care of it.

How do I make sure something fits?

Check our size charts on each product page - they're accurate for how our pieces fit. Our clothing is designed with a relaxed, comfortable fit.

If you're still unsure, email us before ordering and we'll help you figure out the right size.

How do I care for my items?

Treat them like any quality clothing:

  • Wash in cold water on gentle cycle

  • Hang dry when possible (or tumble dry low)

  • Turn inside out before washing to protect prints

Our designs are made to last years, not just a few washes. Take care of them and they'll stay vibrant.

Impact & Values

What does Heal Palestine do?

Heal Palestine provides direct humanitarian aid to Palestinians - medical care, food, water, and essential supplies for children in Gaza and the West Bank. They work with on-ground teams to deliver support where it's needed most.

We chose them because they're transparent about their impact and focused on immediate humanitarian needs. You can see their work at healpalestine.org.

What about the politics of all this?

Yes, this is political - because governments made Palestinian survival political by supporting genocide. We're on the side of human rights, period.

Yusuf has family in Palestine suffering and dying right now. This isn't abstract for us - it's personal and urgent. Our goal is to bring awareness to what's been happening to Palestinians for over 75 years.

We design clothing that celebrates Palestinian heritage and supports Palestinian people.

Practical Stuff

Can I buy your clothing as a gift?

Absolutely. We can ship directly to the recipient and include a gift note if you'd like. Just add the details at checkout.

Palestinian pride makes a meaningful gift for graduates, birthdays, or anyone beginning their solidarity journey.

Do you have gift cards?

Yes, in different amounts. Perfect when you want to give someone the choice while still ensuring their purchase supports Palestinian communities.

What about bulk orders for organizations or events?

Email us at yuma@theyumaproject.com. We can work something out for bulk orders, especially if it's for community organizing or educational purposes.

My order hasn't shipped yet. What's happening?

Email us at yuma@theyumaproject.com with your order number. Sometimes things get delayed (we're human), and we'd rather you know what's going on than wonder. Communication matters to us.

I have questions about Palestinian culture or the designs.

We love sharing knowledge about Palestinian heritage! Email us at yuma@theyumaproject.com with questions about the history behind our designs, the symbols we use, or Palestinian culture in general. As a Palestinian-owned business, education is part of our mission.

Still Have Questions?

Email us at yuma@theyumaproject.com. We actually read and respond to every message because this is a real business run by real people who care about getting Palestinian representation right.

We're not trying to be corporate or perfect. We're trying to be authentic and helpful while raising awareness about what's happening to Palestinians - and what's been happening for over 75 years.

If you're still on the fence about ordering, that's fine. Follow us on Instagram or TikTok for a while, see how we show up consistently, and order when it feels right.

The goal isn't just to sell you clothes. It's to build a community of people who give a damn about Palestinian identity and freedom. The clothing is just how we start the conversation.
